JON ALLEGRETTO BIO

Chicago based, nationally touring recording artist Jon Allegretto has enjoyed decades-long success as an independent singer/songwriter/guitarist as well as frontman of the rock band A Friend Called Fire. He performs soulful original music with a modern twist, as well as spirited takes on popular classic hits from the ‘50s to today. His sound is rooted in alt pop/rock and electric blues with an injection of folk sensibilities and an emphasis on melody and explosive lead guitar playing.

As a solo acoustic singer/songwriter and with his acoustic duo or electric group The Allegretto Collective, he performs over 100 shows per year. Jon is able to connect emotionally with audiences from the largest of festival stages to the most intimate of listening environments. He has toured the US many times with highlights including Madison Square Garden, a tilapia fish farm in the mountains of Pennsylvania, and in the shadow of Mount Rainier. Jon feels equally at home playing amphitheaters, breweries, and backyards and has shared the stage with an eclectic array of artists including Gary Clark Jr., Vance Joy, Bachman Turner, Everclear, and many more that reflect his musical style and sound.
